LEESBURG, Va., May 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- MTN Government Services (MTNGS), a subsidiary of MTN Satellite Communications (MTN), the global provider of communications, connectivity, and content services to remote locations around the world, today announced it has secured the very first competitive task order for Subscription Services on the Future Commercial Satellite Communications (COMSATCOM) Services Acquisition (FCSA) contract. MTNGS will provide managed network services to deliver constant monitoring and management of iDirect hub equipment and various VSAT remotes with 24x7 Secure NOC Support. The MTNGS SOC gives immediate response to option file generation, remote commissioning support, weekly status log and commissioning reports to include bandwidth usage reporting.

"Being awarded the first task order under Subscription Services on FCSA is recognition of MTNGS' strengths to develop and deliver innovative cost-effective satellite solutions that meet the unique requirements of our critical government clients," said Jim Ramsey, president of MTN Government Services. "This is a testament to our commitment on delivering the very best satcom solutions that are compliant with the essential, stringent, and continually evolving requirements of global satellite services by our United States Government. We are proud of this achievement and will deliver beyond expectations."

FCSA consists of a comprehensive set of acquisition activities which are intended to replace expiring DISA and GSA contracts, including DSTS-G, Inmarsat, and SATCOM II. The FCSA program has created two new Schedule Items Numbers (SINs) under the GSA IT Schedule 70 Multiple Awards Schedule, both being offered by MTNGS. These two SINs, Transponded Capacity (132-54) and Subscription Services (132-55), are open to offers on a continual basis and provide specific satellite services which require no development or systems integration activities.

MTNGS provides "Always On - Always Available" worldwide connectivity solutions to a significant number of government entities today, including the Department of Defense, Military Sealift Command, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army and other agencies.
